Ziggy Table
This oversized table was a one-off commission, designed to accommodate large gatherings in a double height room at the
Artist Studios that was once the vibrant salon and painting studio of James Whistler. On a faceted brass and steel pedestal the extensive tabletop has been handmade from three metre lengths of solid 8000 year old oak seamlessly jointed together by traditional carpenters, Jack Badger, with whom we worked previously on the Neolithic Bar.
Shakes found along the length of the timbers have been filled with a flush golden brass inlay poured into the gaps to highlight this naturally occurring zig zag split in the wood.
