Belgravia Townhouse, London
Planning and Listed Buildings approval was obtained to rework this handsome 1820s Belgravia townhouse comprising 4,000 sq.ft arranged over six-storeys with a basement. The property has undergone several extensions in recent decades and been subjected to numerous alterations that were poorly executed and unsympathetic to the historic building. The works that we are undertaking will correct many of the previous ungainly alterations, and include a number of sensitive repairs to reinstate the original Georgian character together with a new layout on the lower levels to provides more natural light and a better connection to the newly landscaped garden and terraces. This full refurbishment interweaves traditional features with new elements of high quality contemporary design internally whilst addressing the challenges of creating an elegant, comfortable and contemporary family home from a tall Listed building on a relatively narrow urban plot.
